About the Gluboost system

Four products that work together

GluBoost is a system of cyanoacrylate glue (CA glue), fillers, accelerator and colour pigments developed for precision work. In the jewellery workshop it is used to set natural materials such as crushed stone and enamel glass, and to create colour fillings. Once cured, the piece is sanded and polished as usual – with the same compounds and tools as for gold and silver.

1 · Glue

Create natural, vibrant enamel

The CA glue is crystal clear, very strong and available in different viscosities. It is developed to bond and secure pieces of natural stone, enamel glass and similar materials in silver and gold jewellery.

Combined with the accelerator spray, the glue cures instantly. This lets you create enamel-like surfaces from natural materials – without a kiln and without extra tools. The piece is then sanded and polished as usual, with the same compounds and tools as for gold and silver.

Place the material

Place crushed stone, e.g. lapis lazuli, turquoise or malachite, or enamel glass in the recess.

Apply the glue

Drip the glue on so that it penetrates between the pieces.

Spray accelerator

The glue cures instantly. Build up in several layers if needed.

Sand and polish

As usual – no special tools or special handling required.

2 · Fillers

Create colour fillings

Fill n’ Finish is a filler glue available in different viscosities, used to add colour to jewellery. It can be mixed with Tint pigments to the colour you want. As black is a very popular colour, it is also available pre-mixed and ready to use: Fill n’ Finish Black.

Two ways to use colour

Highlight a motif by filling the area around the motif with colour
Fill recessed areas with colour – e.g. engraved or laser-cut recesses

As simple as that

Mix the colour with pigment, apply the material and spray accelerator. It cures instantly and is ready for surface treatment and finishing together with the piece. No extra tools, materials or specialist knowledge required.

3 · Accelerator

Instant curing

GluDry Accelerator is a spray that instantly cures CA glue and fillers. The formula is acetone-free and cures clear – without bubbles, pits, film, white spots or yellowing.

When building up: spray from a distance of approx. 25–30 cm
For thin layers and drip filling: short bursts from approx. 20 cm
Never touch the tip of the glue bottle to a surface that has already been sprayed
The Pinpoint + Extender Kit gives more precise dosing

4 · Colour Pigments (Tint)

Seven base colours – endless shades

The Tint pigments (MasterTint) are specially developed for Fill n’ Finish. They can be used on their own or mixed to create new shades and custom colours.

Mixing tips

Add the colour first and the white last when mixing lighter shades
The pigments mix best at low humidity – ideally 45% or lower
The pigments are concentrated – start with a small amount, as too much pigment can prolong curing

Storage and shelf life

Store unopened bottles in a cool place, preferably in a refrigerator (approx. 4–5 °C). Opened bottles should not be put back in the refrigerator – condensation can cause the glue to cure in the bottle. According to the manufacturer, unopened bottles have a shelf life of up to two years.

Safety

Cyanoacrylate bonds to skin and eyes within seconds. Keep out of the reach of children. Work in a well-ventilated area and wear safety glasses and nitrile gloves (avoid cotton gloves). Follow the product’s safety data sheet (SDS).

How strong is the glue?

According to the manufacturer, MasterGlu has a tensile strength of more than approx. 27 MPa (4,000 psi). In practice, the strength depends mainly on the materials being bonded.
